Book Description:

This book is about the great companion of the Prophet ﷺ, Zaid ibn Thabit (11 BH – 51 H), may Allah be pleased with him. He embraced Islam at the age of 11 and became an expert in the Quran's recitation, as well as in other branches of knowledge. Zaid was chosen by the Prophet ﷺ to learn writing, and he became one of the scribes of the Prophet ﷺ, writing down the divine revelation. He also authored the letters the Prophet ﷺ sent to various kings around the world.

Zaid’s Accomplishments:

  • Zaid compiled the Quran during the Prophet’s ﷺ lifetime and later compiled it into a book during the caliphate of Abu Bakr.
  • He was entrusted with writing copies of the Quran during the caliphate of Uthman.
  • Zaid was known for his quest for knowledge, including learning the Syriac language in just seventeen days, as instructed by the Prophet ﷺ.
  • He was praised by scholars, including Ibn Abdul-Barr, who mentioned that Zaid excelled in two fields: the Quran and the knowledge of inheritance law.
  • Zaid was a prominent leader in Fatwa, alongside figures like Umar, Ali, Ibn Mas'ud, Ubayy, and Abu Musa.
