Dr. Pawar is the author of over 20 academic books aimed at both junior college and M.A. students. His research journey began under the mentorship of Dr. Appasaheb Pawar in 1964, guiding him towards invaluable experience in researching historical documents at the university’s History Department. Throughout his career, he has penned more than 25 books on prominent historical figures, such as Maharani Tarabai, Senapati Santaji Ghorpade, and Rajarshi Shahu Smarak Granth.
A recognized authority in his field, Dr. Pawar’s research articles have been featured in 45+ research magazines and at numerous history-related conferences, where he has also chaired many sessions. He is a founding member and past chairman of the All Maharashtra History Council and established the Maharashtra Itihas Prabodhini in 1992, where he served as the Director. His work has played a significant role in promoting historical research and social awakening through history.
In 2001, the Rajarshi Shahu Smarak Granth, a monumental work of over 1200 pages, was published, further solidifying his contribution to the study of history. This book has been translated into 16 Indian languages, as well as Russian, French, Italian, and Japanese. For his exceptional contributions to the field of history, Dr. Pawar was felicitated by the President of India and also received the title of Shahucharitrakar for his work on Shahu Maharaj.
