About the Book
The fifth volume of Subhash Chandra Basu's Complete Works has been published on the eve of his birth centenary. This volume consists of more than 100 important speeches and writings from 1929 to 1933, a period of great political significance in Netaji's life. This collection includes speeches that established him as a key political figure and a prominent leftist leader in India's freedom struggle. The period is critical as he became an emerging leader in the Indian political sphere and was recognized as a key advocate of left-wing politics.
This volume includes several historical speeches and writings from Netajiās life during his time in prison. Some notable speeches include his time as Mayor of Kolkata and a collection of speeches and writings related to his political and ideological growth.
The collection captures significant moments of Netaji's life and thought, especially around the years 1929 to 1933, as he navigated Indiaās political landscape and became a leading voice for the Independence Movement.
In this volume, the reader will also find speeches from Netajiās time in prison and letters written during those times, illustrating his unyielding commitment to Indiaās freedom struggle. It ends with an emotional farewell speech to the people of Bengal, delivered before his departure from India in 1933.
