Book Description:

Je Taranikhani is an inspiring autobiographical account by Krishna Basu, the wife of the great freedom fighter and renowned pediatrician Shishir Kumar Basu. The book captures moments from the life of Shishir Kumar, who played a crucial role in the struggle for India’s independence, particularly as a courageous aide to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. From his early involvement in the freedom movement to his dedicated efforts post-independence, Shishir Kumar remained steadfast in his mission until his last days.

In this deeply personal narrative, Krishna Basu reflects on her journey as the companion of a remarkable man, providing an intimate look into the dedication and resilience that characterized Shishir Kumar’s life. His work in establishing Netaji Research Bureau in Kolkata and his relentless contribution to Indian history are documented here, making the book not just a memoir, but a tribute to a man whose life was devoted to the nation.
