About the Author:
Alpana Ghosh was born in 1945 in Kolkata. She is a graduate of Calcutta University and began her career as a journalist with the magazine Kalantar. She later became a teacher at the South Point School in Ballygunge, Kolkata. Apart from her deep interest in literature and cooking, she is well-versed in Spanish and Portuguese languages, having pursued higher education in Macau through a Portuguese government scholarship. Alpana has also studied Japanese Ikebana (flower arrangement) and has been recognized by the Ikebana International Kyoto School for her proficiency.
Her passion for cooking began post-marriage, under the guidance of her mother and grandmother, and she has never stopped experimenting with new recipes and techniques. She has a distinct blend of culinary expertise and cultural exploration, which comes alive in her writing.
