About the Author:
Supriya Devi was born on January 8, 1933, in Burma (now Myanmar), to parents Gopal Chandra Bandopadhyay and Kiranbala Devi. She moved to Kolkata permanently in 1949. Her first foray into acting came in 1950 with the film Nagapash, and she became a household name after her performance in "Basu Paribar" (1952). Supriya Devi went on to become one of the most iconic actresses in Bengali cinema, starring in films like "Amrapali", "Meghe Dhaka Tara", and "Komol Gandhar", alongside Uttam Kumar, with whom she made several memorable films.

Apart from her acting career, she has always had a keen interest in cooking, which she beautifully blends into this book. With a professional theater background, and a passion for different art forms, she brings her unique perspective into the world of cooking as well. Supriya Devi has also acted in numerous TV shows and plays and has received several prestigious awards, including the BFJA Award twice.
