The Baluchari Saree is a celebrated Geographical Indication (GI) product of Bengal, with a legacy of over 200 years. Despite its technical difficulty and lack of high monetary return, Baluchari weaving has been rejuvenated thanks to Biswa Bangla’s collaboration with the weavers in Bankura district. This initiative not only preserved the craft but also allowed for product diversification to cater to modern-day preferences.
