About the Author:
Dr. K.M. Suresh, born in 1952, is a distinguished scholar and archaeologist. He is currently serving as the Director (Museum) at Kannada University, Hampi, Karnataka. Dr. Suresh holds a Master's degree from Karnataka University, Dharwar, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi. He completed his Ph.D. in 1992 from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, on the topic of "Sculptural Art of Hampi Vijayanagara."
Dr. Suresh has extensive experience in archaeological research, having worked in various capacities at major archaeological sites including Bijapur, Hampi, Aihole, Badami, and Khajuraho. He was also an active field worker and excavator at the Archaeological Survey of India's Excavation Branch IV in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. His contributions to Indian archaeology are significant, especially in the areas of sculpture and epigraphy.
