  • Kumarprasad Mukhopadhyay was born in February 1927 in Allahabad.
  • He completed his schooling and university education in Lucknow, earning an M.A. in Economics and Sociology.
  • He served as a Central Government officer in the Industrial Management Pool and held various important positions in organizations like NCDC, Coal Mines Authority, and Coal India Limited between 1967 and 1984.
  • After retiring, he became involved in several companies and continued his work in diverse fields.
  • Kumarprasad began his music training at the age of eight under Rabindralal Ray and later received lessons from legendary figures like Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan and Ustad Fayaz Khan.
  • He trained under renowned maestros such as Ustad Ata Hussain Khan and Ustad Latafat Hussain Khan.
  • He has performed in major cities across India and participated in prestigious music conferences and performances.
  • His first performance on All India Radio was a National Program as an invited artist.
  • He has delivered lectures and sung at various institutions, including the Kolkata Music Research Academy, Simla’s Institute of Advanced Studies, and the Academy in Madras.
