Dr. GS Aujla is an esteemed IPS officer who served for 37 years, eventually retiring as the Director General of Police in Punjab in 2007. He holds an MA in English, an M Phil, and a PhD in Public Administration. His exemplary service earned him numerous awards, including the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (1991) and the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service (1999). Known for his innovative approach to police training, he introduced groundbreaking methodologies in police education and research.

Dr. Aujla is also an accomplished author, having written books on the history of Punjab Police, police training, and a biography of his father, S. Sochet Singh Aujla, a founding father of the Indian Constitution. With a passion for historical research and cultural heritage, Dr. Aujla is a life member of INTACH and an advocate for female education. He resides in Chandigarh with his wife, Rupinder.
