Description
Bish Shataker Pratham Aloy Banganari explores the transformation and struggles of Bengali women from the late 19th century to the first three decades of the 20th century.
- Social and Political Shifts: While the late 19th century saw active social reform movements, the early 20th century witnessed a shift in focus toward political struggles, slowing down structured efforts toward women's reform.
 - Women's Fight for Self-Assertion: Women gradually took charge of their own societal progress, stepping into fields traditionally dominated by men, such as education, employment, and politics.
 - Political Dilemmas and Women's Role: Many women hesitated to participate in political movements, but the upheavals of the 1940s—World War II, the Bengal Famine, and Partition—radically reshaped their roles and aspirations.
 - Historical Analysis: This book presents a detailed historical account of Bengali women's struggles for self-empowerment in society, politics, and culture.
