About Tangail Saree

Tangail sarees are handwoven on cotton and silk with hand-worked buti, floral designs, or contemporary motifs. The main characteristic of Tangail saree is the extra weft buti, tiny motifs repeated all over the ground of the saree with the help of a Jacquard loom. Cotton Tangail sarees are popular due to their lightness, making them excellent for daily wear. These sarees are produced by around 1,000 weavers and 2,000 ancillary artisans, mainly in Nadia and some in Bardhaman district, producing these colourful, easy-to-manage, and uniquely elegant cotton sarees.
