About Tangail Saree:

Tangail sarees are traditionally hand-woven on cotton and silk, featuring hand-worked buti, floral designs, or contemporary motifs. The main characteristic of Tangail sarees is the extra weft buti, which consists of tiny motifs repeated across the ground of the saree using a Jacquard loom. These sarees are lightweight and excellent for daily wear. About 1,000 weavers and 2,000 ancillary artisans, mostly from Nadia and Bardhaman districts, contribute to the creation of these colourful, easy-to-manage, and uniquely elegant cotton sarees.
