About the Author

ज्योति सिडाना is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at the Government Girls College, Kota. She holds an M.Phil. in South Asian Studies from Rajasthan University and a Ph.D. in "Politics, Society, and Knowledge-Elites" from the same university. She has been honored with multiple awards, including the Professor O.P. Sharma Memorial Award for Best Sociological Writing by the Rajasthan Sociological Society (2011) and the Young Social Scientist Award by the Indian Social Science Association (2012).

She has received research awards from UGC (2014-16) and the State Teacher Honor 2018 from the Department of Higher Technical Education, Rajasthan. With over 33 articles published in renowned journals, she is also an active participant in national and international seminars. Her work includes contributions to textbooks by NCERT and other educational boards, along with over 135 articles and surveys published in newspapers and magazines. She is a member of the editorial board of the International Sociological Association's e-journal, Global Dialogue, where she has translated 80 articles into Hindi.
