About the Book
Dalits in India: Socio-Cultural and Literary Representations is an insightful anthology edited by Imrul Kayes Alam Sarkar, exploring the diverse realities of Dalit life in India. This scholarly work presents a collection of essays that examine caste-based marginalization, social discrimination, and the struggle for dignity and identity. Through both socio-cultural and literary lenses, the book highlights issues faced by Dalits such as access to education, healthcare, employment, and representation in literature and public life.
The essays delve into demographic shifts, urbanization, and occupational patterns, offering both national and state-level perspectives. The book also suggests ways to improve socio-economic conditions and promote inclusive development for Dalit communities.
