About the Book
Ambedkarism: Essays on Select Economic & Cultural Issues explores the economic and cultural thoughts of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a visionary who aimed to introduce state socialism for the redistribution of wealth and income to benefit all sections of society. The book delves into the principles of Ambedkarism, which were successfully implemented among the Buddhists of Maharashtra, also known as Ambedkarites. These principles helped them create a new social identity, distinct from traditional Hindu culture. The book highlights Ambedkar's contributions to agricultural policies, his views on inclusive development, and the inclusion of Scheduled Castes through reservation. It also examines his thoughts on industries, the socio-political culture of the Ambedkarites, and their transformation over time. The essays provide valuable insights into Ambedkar's lasting influence on modern Indian society, particularly his impact on social and economic reforms. This work will be a useful resource for researchers, policymakers, students, and general readers interested in Ambedkar's ideas and their relevance in contemporary India.
