About the Author
M.S. Gore is a distinguished social scientist with an illustrious academic and professional career. He served as the Principal of Delhi School of Social Work and later as the Director of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. After retiring in 1982, he served as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bombay and Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. A respected author, his works on Ambedkar’s social and political thought earned him the prestigious Ghurye Award. In recognition of his contributions to social work and sociology, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the President of India in 1975.
