About Tangail Sarees

Tangail sarees are a product of exquisite handwork, typically woven with cotton and silk, incorporating intricate motifs like butis and floral or contemporary designs, usually created using the Jacquard loom. The saree's defining feature is its extra weft buti, which adds tiny motifs across the saree, offering a subtle and elegant look.

While cotton Tangail sarees are light and perfect for daily wear, the silk versions are much sought after for their rich and vibrant look, making them ideal for special occasions. In the districts of Nadia and Bardhaman, over 1,000 weavers, along with 2,000 ancillary artisans, are involved in creating these stunning sarees.

Colour, Texture & Wash Care Information

  • General: Colour and texture of the product may slightly vary due to the handmade nature of the product.

  • Wash Care: Dry clean only; cold wash is recommended. Natural dyes may cause colour bleeding.

  • Embroidery: Slight irregularities, characteristic of handwoven or hand-embroidered products, enhance the uniqueness of the saree.

  • Handwoven: Missing yarn, slobs, and uneven yarn contrasts are typical in handwoven products, making each piece uniquely beautiful.
