About Tangail Sarees:

Tangail sarees are traditionally hand-woven on cotton and silk, featuring hand-worked butis, floral designs, or contemporary motifs. The main characteristic of a Tangail saree is the extra weft buti, which is tiny motifs repeated all over the saree’s ground with the help of Jacquard looms. While cotton Tangail sarees are popular for daily wear due to their lightness, these silk sarees carry a luxurious charm.

Produced by approximately 1,000 weavers and 2,000 ancillary artisans, mostly in the Nadia and Bardhaman districts of Bengal, these sarees embody a unique elegance.

Colour, Texture & Wash Care Information:

  • General: The colour and texture of the product may slightly vary from the photograph due to the handmade nature of the saree.

  • Embroidery: Small irregularities may appear, which is characteristic of any handwoven, hand-embroidered, or handcrafted product. These slight variations enhance the uniqueness and charm of handmade products, which machine-made items lack.

  • Handwoven: Missing yarn, slubs, and uneven yarn contrasts are natural outcomes of the hand-weaving process, contributing to the beauty and individuality of each saree.
