About the Book
Melodies of Muglan by Sonia Thapa is a heartfelt literary work that beautifully captures emotions, memories, and the essence of identity through vivid storytelling and lyrical prose. Set against the serene backdrop of the Himalayan foothills and the tea gardens of Darjeeling, the book explores the intertwined themes of belonging, nostalgia, love, and cultural roots. Each piece in this collection resonates like a melody — gentle yet profound, evoking the rhythm of everyday life in the hills.
Through her evocative writing, Sonia Thapa takes readers on a soulful journey that bridges the world of dreams and reality, the familiar and the forgotten — painting a moving portrait of people, places, and emotions that define the heart of Muglan.
About the Author
Sonia Thapa is an educator, podcaster, and writer from Glenburn Tea Estate, Darjeeling, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. Her previous works include This One’s for You, a collection of short stories, and In Verse, I Am Free, a volume of poetry. Currently working as an ESL teacher in Vietnam, Sonia continues to weave her passion for language and storytelling into her teaching. When not writing or teaching, she can often be found diving into two books at once, exploring conspiracy theories, astrology, or shedding a tear over a touching K-drama.
