About Garod:
Garod is a special variety of silk, traditionally woven in Bengal. The quintessential Garod saree is characterized by a plain red border set against a smooth natural ground, with widely spaced paisley motifs scattered diagonally from feet to waist. This traditional style is widely cherished by Bengali women, particularly during pujas.
It takes around 4-5 days for a weaver to create one exquisite Garod saree. Biswa Bangla has partnered with the weavers of Murshidabad to bring new designs and colours to Garod, making it a perfect fusion of tradition and contemporary appeal.
Colour, Texture & Wash Care Information:
-
General: The colour and texture of the product may slightly vary from the photograph due to the handmade nature of the saree.
-
Embroidery: Small irregularities may occur, which is typical for handwoven, hand-embroidered, or hand-crafted products. These variations add to the unique charm of the saree, distinguishing it from machine-made products.
-
Handwoven: Missing yarn, slubs, and uneven yarn contrasts are common in handwoven products. These natural features of the hand-weaving process contribute to the overall beauty and uniqueness of the saree.
-
Handprinted: Imperfections in hand-printing may be noticed, and colours may fade or bleed due to the traditional dyeing and printing methods employed.
