About the Book
"Research Methodology in Geography" addresses the interdisciplinary approach prevalent in geographical studies, filling a gap in the existing literature on research methodology. While there are many books on research methodology, few focus on the methodological approaches specific to geography, combining various disciplines and providing a comprehensive framework for geographers.
The book includes a collection of papers that focus on contemporary methods in social and policy sciences that are also relevant for geography. However, it is equally useful for students and researchers in other disciplines like economics, sociology, anthropology, public administration, and political science.
Its goal is to present both theoretical analysis and empirical findings concerning environmental, social, and policy issues within the larger context of geographic research. Topics covered include urban geography, data collection, spatial sampling, remote sensing techniques, GIS, participatory rural appraisal, and social mobility, among others.
