About the Book
Until now, there has been a significant gap in Hindi literature on the topic of counseling. This book is an effort to fill this void. It is structured into 15 chapters, beginning with the definition of counseling and focusing on its essential goals. The book offers a detailed description of the personal qualities, skills development, and professional attitude required of a counselor. It also examines the roles of counselors in various fields, discussing the necessary skills and qualities for effective counseling. Drawing on the perspectives of various scholars, the book elaborates on the role of a counselor.
The book includes two complete chapters on individual counseling and group counseling, highlighting the differences and approaches between the two. Since counseling is usually carried out through interviews, various aspects of interviews are discussed in detail. It delves into fundamental counseling approaches, including cognitive and person-centered approaches. The book outlines the various stages of the counseling process and presents various perspectives on counseling evaluation. Finally, the book includes case studies that address solutions to common counseling issues. This book serves as a new and comprehensive effort that will benefit both teachers and students in the field of counseling.
