About the Book
Water bodies surround the globe, yet most nations, including India, face severe water shortages. With the declining per capita water availability and the rapidly deteriorating quality of water, India is facing a water crisis. Over-extraction of groundwater further exacerbates the issue. There is an urgent need to educate the masses on the importance of effective water resource management. "Geography of Water Resources" aims to address this critical issue and provides a comprehensive and well-documented account of global water resource management.
This book, which is a part of university and college syllabi in India and around the world, presents detailed insights into the scientific management of water resources. Topics discussed include the worldwide distribution of water, water quality, irrigation methods, floods, droughts, watershed management, traditional water harvesting techniques, and water ethics. The book also highlights environmental disasters and the water crisis, aiming to provide solutions for better water management.
It is a valuable resource for students, researchers, academicians, policy makers, and competitive exam aspirants, providing crucial knowledge about water conservation, pollution, and water disputes.
