About the Book
Water bodies surround the globe, yet the world faces severe water shortages. In India, per capita water availability is declining drastically, and the quality of available water is rapidly deteriorating. Over-extraction of groundwater has exacerbated the crisis. There is an urgent need to educate the masses on the importance of effective water resource management. "Geography of Water Resources" aims to address this critical issue.
This book, now part of the syllabus in universities and colleges globally, offers a comprehensive and well-documented account of water resource management. It covers a wide range of issues including global water distribution, water quality, irrigation methods, flooding, droughts, watershed management, and traditional water harvesting techniques. This is an essential resource for students, researchers, academicians, analysts, and policy makers.
By providing an accessible and detailed discussion on these topics, the book is particularly useful for competitive exam preparation and serves as a foundational text for anyone interested in water resources and environmental sustainability.
