About the Author:
Dr. B. Subrahmanyam, born in 1950 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, is a seasoned archaeologist and Deputy Director in the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Andhra Pradesh. A postgraduate from Andhra University and Ph.D. holder from Mysore University, he has played a key role in numerous excavations, conservation efforts, and the organization of museums.
His prolific career includes the authorship of several significant publications on Buddhist and historical subjects, such as Thotlakonda, Buddhist Relic Caskets in South India, Pre, Proto and Early Historic Cultures of Krishna Tungabhadra Valley, and Jatakas in South Indian Art. Recognized for his discovery of Buddhist Relic Caskets at Bavikonda, he continues to contribute to the documentation and preservation of India's ancient cultural heritage.
