About the Author:
Dr. K.M. Suresh (born 1952) is a distinguished archaeologist, former Registrar, and retired Professor & Director of the Museum at Kannada University, Hampi, Karnataka. He holds an M.A. from Karnataka University, a P.G. Diploma in Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi, and a Ph.D. from Utkala University, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on the topic "Sculptural Art of Hampi." His research was guided by the late Prof. K.S. Behera of the Department of History.
Currently, Dr. Suresh is a Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Indian Institute of Science Campus, Bangalore, working on The Indian Digital Heritage Research Project on Hampi.
Dr. Suresh's career with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) spanned from 1976 to 1996, during which he worked in several prestigious archaeological museums, including those in Bijapur, Hampi, Aihole, Badami (Karnataka), and Khajuraho (Madhya Pradesh). He has also been a dedicated field worker and excavator in the Excavations Branch IV of the ASI in Bhubaneswar, Orissa.
