About Begumpuri Saree:

Begumpuri sarees are expertly hand-woven by around 2,000 weavers and 1,000 ancillary artisans in the Hooghly district. Known for their easy maintenance, these cotton sarees don’t require frequent starching. The sarees are characterized by a loosely woven coarse structure that provides a smooth feel. It takes 2-3 days for a weaver to prepare a Begumpuri saree. Biswa Bangla has introduced new designs and colors, using natural dyes, to recreate these sarees for modern-day connoisseurs.
