Dr. (Smt.) S. Kayarkanni, born on 1st June 1960, is a distinguished academician and researcher with extensive contributions in the field of economics. She holds postgraduate degrees in Economics and Mathematical Economics, and earned her Doctorate from Madurai Kamaraj University. Additionally, she completed an MBA from Alagappa University.
Dr. Kayarkanni has served as a faculty member at Mother Teresa Women's University and Lady Dock College, and currently works as Associate Professor and Head of the Economics Department at Sri Parasakthi College for Women, Courtallam. She has guided numerous M.Phil. and Ph.D. scholars and authored over sixty research papers across various domains including agriculture, marketing, epigraphy, and environmental economics.
Her scholarly work has been published in reputable journals such as Agricultural Situation in India, Studies in Indian Epigraphy, and Journal of Ancient Sciences and Archaeology. Notable books by her include Economic Analysis of Fertilizer Use for Major Crops, Monetary Economics, and Agroeconomy, Environment, and Rights. She has also published works on Monetary Economic Policy, Environmental Economics, and Industrial Economics, and has delivered lectures at prominent academic forums, including the Sri Kaila Sanathan Endowment lecture.
