Details
The Manthanabhairavatantra is a significant and extensive Tantra focusing on the worship of the goddess Kubjika. This edition presents the Kumarikakhanda, one of its three sections. Alongside the Kubjikamata, this text is one of the most important scriptures dedicated to Kubjika, a powerful goddess historically linked to the Kaula and Trika traditions.

Although originally an Indian deity, Kubjika's cult has been preserved almost exclusively in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley, where it remained a closely guarded secret among Newar initiates. The text provides deep insights into early Kaula systems, tracing their evolution up to the worship of Tripura. Kubjika is associated with Malini, the goddess of the Trika Tantras, and Kali from the Kashmiri Krama tradition.

The book includes an extensive introduction that explores the historical, ritualistic, and spiritual significance of the Kubjika tradition, drawing from rare, unpublished Tantras. The work took nearly two decades to complete, with the author and a team of five trained assistants preparing multiple working editions of previously unpublished texts.

This edition is an essential resource for scholars of Tantric traditions, Hindu mysticism, and the esoteric practices of the Kaula and Trika schools.
