Author Bio:
Paritosh Sen was born in 1918 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. After studying under renowned sculptor and painter Debiprasad Roychoudhury, he graduated from the Government Art College in Madras in 1940. He then went on to teach and exhibit his work in Europe and the United States. Paritosh Sen held over 35 solo and joint exhibitions, with notable shows in Paris (1954) and Moscow (1979). He passed away in 2008 and was a former member of the Lalit Kala Akademi and a Senate member of Visva-Bharati University. His writings on modern and classical art are well-known in both English and Bengali.
