About the Author:
দীপঙ্কর ঘোষ is a long-time researcher and practitioner of West Bengal's social and cultural heritage. He holds an M.Sc. in Anthropology and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication. He has served as the curator of the Howrah District Museum, "Ananda Niketan Kirtishala," and is currently the co-editor of publications at the West Bengal Government’s "Folk and Tribal Cultural Centre." For his contributions to folk culture, he has been honored with the Sahajia Samman (2008) and the Terracotta Samman (2011).
